Here are a few videos that I have come across before that have some relevance to the things we covered in the first class.
The first is on using templates for cutting lofted surfaces in blue foam-core with a hot wire cutter. This is for model aeroplanes, but the same sort of thing can be used for lofted organic shapes for roofs and other things.
The second video is less to do with architecture model making, and more to do with the moral and ethical implications of 3D printer technology.
