Faceted Dome

I was considering different ways of creating a dome with the materials available, and since acrylic was the clear choice (pun intended) I had to figure out how to create a rounded shape out of flat surfaces.

I looked at faceted gemstone cuts and how they arranged hexagons, triangles and quadrilaterals to create rounded 3D shapes.
